When I was in first grade, my teacher said I was too serious for a girl my age. In second grade, a classmate taught me how to burp on demand and laugh like a donkey. Now — after studies in theatre, film, photography, and picture book writing and illustration, and after careers in marketing, film, and nonprofit fundraising — I am likely the most serious silly girl or the most silly serious girl you will ever meet.
